Just interested to hear how everyone else would go about it...As in different programs/equipment you use/timeframes/etc
Have had so many different suggestions that I am now thoroughly confused & undecided!

He is 7yo & has been turned away for the past 15+months after his owner's wife had a baby. So is abit out of shape & needs alot of work before he is able to compete. *Makes note to add pics*

Anyone brought a horse back after this amount of time off? obviously I understand that every horse & situation is different so time & work will vary, but anyone want to suggest how or where you personally would start?...X

My mare wasnt ridden from the age of 5 until she was 13 due to an injury that caused a lot of problems - i started lungeing her gently every few days and building that up - i was lucky i was very close to a hilly country park and started taking her for walks round there for about 30- 40 minutes at a time. Its suprising how quickly they do build up. I dont know if your aiming to do anything in particular but i would try to just take it a week at a time and try to achieve new goals each week.

I got my boy a month ago and he had been out of regular work for around a year - plan I am following is...
1-3 weeks walking 5 days a week, start at 20 mins, build up to 2hrs
3-6 weeks start incorperating trot
6-10 weeks start incoperating canter
10+ weeks start incoperating galloping and jumping
