Hi, I am currently looking to apply to Vet Med in 2021 and I’d really like to take my horse with me. Surrey and Bristol are currently my top choices so if anyone had any experience taking a horse to these universities specifically I’d appreciate it. I am aware that I want to study a very intense course that would require lots of time but I am very determined and have been juggling horses and school for a very long time. If I went to Surrey I could possibly move the horse halfway between my house and uni since Surrey is only an hour away. However if I went to Bristol I would have to move it between uni and home depending on the time of year. I would have it on full livery and would probably try to find a part loan for it as I have done that in the past and it worked perfectly. Any suggestions would be welcome :)

It is possible, but it's blooming expensive and hard. Particularly when you're living in Bristol, expect to have to travel an hour as even if places look close enough, the traffic to get out of the city is really bad at the times you'll be wanting to go. It's easier when out at Langford, there are plenty of good yards close by.

I was thinking that since I’d be out at Langford at least once a week anyway it wouldn’t be that bad if I had a part loaner. So would only have to worry about the weekend day and maybe a week day for unnecessary travel!

Thank you! Do you know how close it is to the city centre?

It is the closest full livery yard to the city centre about 15 mins. You can get stuffed in traffic though but you need to pick your times.

It's south of Bristol
On the way out to Langford. There are other livery yards closer to Langford. I don't know what the balance of your course will be.
