Bringing in

Mine are in every night already, my mare absolutely hates rain, cold, wind, well anything really thats not warm and sunny, they started coming in a week or more ago, and a day like today where its raining this afternoon i've run to yard and got them in otherwise she'd be standing hunched up shivvering - bl)(dy horse got me on the end of her strings ! :D

I'll be moving Nadia from grass to back on a yard where they have to come in every night next weekend. Will be a massive shock to the system again having to muck out every day.

Im on diy livery and yo decides -depends on weather - if not too wet, so horses are ruining fields, it will be early december - if very wet and muddy mid november -
im happy with that - my lad is a big furry cob and prefers to be out :)

Mine has had his second night in. He lives out happily from March but it has turned really cold/wet/windy round here and he is now asking to come in.

I would happily leave him out 24/7 if he wanted to and he had sufficient company but I am always 99% guided by his reaction. The last 2 days he has started pacing and telling me he wants in, so he is in :( now starts the mucking out and copious amounts of bedding as he is a filthy beastie :)

I usually bring in November but am really worried this year as last winter was at a new yard where noone brought in until jan when we had the bad snow! My mare hates the wet and cold but she will not come in on her own :( I was in tears when I arrived n she was galloping up and down the fence in knee deep mud (on top of a hill) to come in. I hope they will bring in earlier this year or I won't kno what to do :(
