Probably a really dim question, but I'm not a member but would like to do a open prelim class at a local affiliated event. On the form I downloaded from BD site, there are bits to fill in with membership numbers etc and it says if you don't fill this in the form will just be returned to you. Do I need to write on this form that I'm not a member or will they just take that as read as I am only doing the prelim anyway? Sorry if seems a daft question

Don't worry it won't be returned. They should guess you're not registered as you're entering the open section so just put N/A (not applicable) in the boxes where membership numbers etc are asked for.

hi your horse does not need to be registered but if you wish to take part in the qualifier so that you can get to the regionals you need to be a member if you wish to qualify remember to put restricted in the open/restricted box. when you qualify for the regionals you then need to register your horse. this is also the case for regional festivals.hope that helps it can be a little confusing and dissapointing if you dont get it right.goodluck!

Do you have to include a SAE with your entries, I have done this several times but it never seems to get used and if I have to leave early at the competition I am always asked to provide another? What are they used for?

you dont need a stamped address envelope only if it is for a show which specifically asks for example the nationals where you need passes etc . if you wish to leave a show before the class has ended then you should then give the secretary your envelope to post on your test sheets
