I've been thinking of doing some BD next year with my boy, since he's actually decied he might be good at it now, but I think I'm being a bit blonde with the whole points system..
Am I right in thinking you only get points from novice and above?
And also, do you and your horse have to be full members to be able to get points?

Sorry for my sheer dimness on this subject!!

Yes at Prelim no points are awarded. At Novice and above points are awarded according to the percentage you gain in the test. I believe you only get points if full members but not totally sure on that one.

Yep points are only awarded to members

I'm considering joining and wondered exactly how points are awarded- is it entirely dependent on your % score?

And how much is it for me and one horse to be members? I can see on the BD website it is £60 for my membership, but how much is horse membership?

Yes points are totally dependent on your percentage and not placings.
Points are awarded as following:
60-61.99 = 1point
62-63.99 = 2 points
64-65.99 = 3 points
66-67.99 = 4 points
68-69.99 = 5 points
70-71.99 = 6 points
72+ = 7 points
