British Horse Feeds linseed / Charnwoods?

My local feed merchant had the British Horse Feeds linseed not the Charnwoods which I have bought previously. It is more powdery and darker in colour and there aren't any visible seeds. The horses didn't seem to notice any difference but I did notice that the birds aren't pecking their droppings.
Has anyone else found any difference?

I fed it after my dad returned from the feed shop with it (despite explicit instructions on what he was to buy).

Horses ate it fine, didn't notice any difference and iirc it was much cheaper.

If I go back to feed linseed I'd buy the BHF version

ETA I think I did have a slight panic about it being different but milliepops did the sensible and productive time of comparing the nutritional analysis and I think BHF was the "better" compared to charnwood. Certainly no worse!

Thanks for posting this, I didn't realise there was another company producing 20kg bags of cooked/micronised linseed. The price of Charnwoods has rocketed, BHF's is about £5 cheaper for exactly the same product.

Burwood also do 20kg bags of linseed, not tried it but it’s certainly quite a bit cheaper than Charnwoods at £19.99 in our local feed merchants.

Random question to bump an old thread but I buy 'cooked Linseed meal' for my horse. I have just compared it with all the others mentioned in this thread and from the analysis on my feed merchants website it matches word for word that of the charnwoods one. However it comes in clear plastic sack with no branding on. Is it likely to be the same? Having just looked at the price of charnwood online it's also £5 cheaper ?‍♀️

Bumping this thread again. My supplier swapped my last order from Charnwood to Omega linseed.

Which is
Sugar: 3.5%
Starch: 10%
Digestible Energy: 21MJ/kg

So not as good as Charnwood / BHF linseed

I’m going to see if can get British Horse feeds linseed next time.

Our feedstore normally only has an unbranded in a clear sack, which I think is Charnwoods supplied. They had a random sack of BHF, in a branded/opaque sack, which I prefer as that way the light can't degrade the Omega oils, so I am going to ask them to get more BHF in :)
