With the horrendous weather Friday, and all last week really i shamefully admit to only getting to ride once last week! (hangs head in shame) I also couldn't get a last minute lesson, because id promised to take my friends horse to the vets Friday afternoon. I also made a last minute decision to change her to a waterford fulmer, to have a bit more say in things! So i wasn't feeling full of confidence for the regional.

Alarm went off at nice and early, and set off for kingwood. Arrived just as they started the warm up class, so tacked up hopped on board. We have been trying a new tact with this mare of doing very little warm up, as too much seems to send her over the edge! However upon canter to the first practice fence, she spat her toys out of the pram because i could stop her from running at the fence. So just jumped one more fence, and went in. She jumped a nice clear, and i had control so i felt a little better for the next class.

In the regional qual i was about 22nd to jump out of 68, so had time to watch plenty go. The course was jumping well, although afew didnt like the double of planks going towards home, and the people watching along the fence line.
Again warm up wise, we kept it short! She jumped a nice clear round, and felt like she was really jumping and listening. We had a long wait for the second round.. and plenty of people managing a clear.
1st round - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCscNUBQ4Kc&list=UUeDkNIMjVJ4Keq3ATdailyg&index=3&feature=plcp

Second round was shorten to fences 1-6, keeping a lovely problem causing stile in there at fence 5! I was 12th to go, and she managed to keep a hat on her excitement and jump another nice clear. At this point i was chuffed, as the last qualifier she had 8 faults, which was quite out of character for her. Me and my dad decided it didn't matter how she did in the third round, as she will of never jumped a course at this height.
2nd round - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxaRSsm1Gqg&list=UUeDkNIMjVJ4Keq3ATdailyg&index=2&feature=plcp

Third round came, and now approx 22 of us clear. I decided it wasnt fair on her to go fast, and was aiming for a nice treble clear to qualify us.. apart from a lucky rub at the planks, she jumped another fab clear!! BIG grin from me, and plenty of pats and polos for Soph.
3rd round - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLf_f3RCDyY&list=UUeDkNIMjVJ4Keq3ATdailyg&index=1&feature=plcp

So we are Scope bound, for two classes! Nice cup of tea, and cookies if you got this far!
CC welcome, however on watching these i have spotted yet more faults on my part to add to the list to be tackled! Including keeping my hands low.

Fantastic - well done you!!!!!!!! Really chuffed for you - no mean achievement to jump 3 clear rounds. Not had chance to watch the videos yet but will do later.

Aw thank you, i was so glad to jump the last fence clear i ALWAYS stuff it up in the final round or jump off of most classes! Bl66dy nerves!

Well done - I like the new concept of all treble clears qualifying now, makes so much more sense than rushing nice young horses against the clock. Not that I ever qualify for anything mind you... Best of luck for Scope!

that is fantastic! well done!

not watched the videos but good on you for going for the treble clear instead of the win, makes more sense to produce young horses this way

Claire- hopefully see you there, will have to do a 'whos going scope' post nearer the time and all meet up.

Yes the treble clear rule is much better, id not have a chance to qualify otherwise. With one pro having four horse in this one qualifier!

Supernova- the less is more warm up routine i think is really helping her stay calmer.

Well done F i saw you result on KW website so so pleased for you! :D i missed you go as my horsebox decided not to start as i had just filled up with fuel! 2.5 hours later i was on the road again, KW were nice and put me at the end of the draw but i was in such a panic mess when i got there i rode awful and Lily stopped :( totally not like her, but totally my fault :( i was so upset as it was a problem with the starter motor which i only had fitted 2 months ago! So i didnt feel like watching much of the class i was so depressed :( Anyway decided to stay fo the Discovery, got my act together and won it, which also got me my last DC for next year so cheered me up :)

Well done again and fab fab rounds!! :D

Escada- I heard you had broken down, what a shame. I've never been kw before, but really liked it there, everyone was very friendly just a touch on the far side from me. What a shame, I missed you go, and no wonder you were upset by the morning you had! Glad you stayed and won the discovery tho. Didn't see you at Bold yesterday did you go? I went and had 4 fault, she just felt a bit tried after the sat.

little flea- must be the chestnut thing we have going on! She is pretty, but has some donkey ears on her!

Measles- Thanks.

Congratualtions! Good luck at Scope.

Escada2004 - if your starter motor goes again just tap it with something and it should work - save you getting stuck on the side of the road until you can get it fixed.

Fantastic result! Well done. The videos look great really calm. It's so much better you don't have to gallop round to qualify now. Good luck at Scope! :)

Thanks Dieseldog i will remember that one :D

Showjump - yes was totally gutted :( i didnt go to Bold in the end as i was so fed up and worried the lorry would play up again! Bad luck with the 4 faults are you doing another Disco? Kingswood is great, one of my locals, its 1 hour 20 from me but a nice easy run :) hopefully see you there again! Whats your next outing? We will get to say hi one day :D

Don't think i will do anymore, they are all miles away i think. Are you?
I'm going Southview sat i think, then not sure where next. Yes one of these day we will catch up with each other!

Hi Showjump. I'm at SV on Sat so hopefully see you there! Which classes are you doing?

Not sure yet, depends if i take both horses. Prob 2nd and 3rd classes and 3rd and 4th with the other horse. How about you?

Think i'm going to do the 1st class with my young horse and 2nd and maybe 3rd with my naughty horse! Or might just take my young horse on Saturday and then take them both on Sunday.

I know all the others are mile away from me too, i don't blame you id not been very keen on jumping that on grass either!
I'm going sv sat, and having sun off as think OH would murder me if i disappeared for another weekend showjumping! May see you there then.
Yes there was a man in a red coat, taking pics all day. I forgot to go up to him and have a word, but would love to get some pics if he has any. He was stood on long side, up from gate.

Still tempted to come sat so might see you there ;)

The photographer was a guy called Graham Hughes, i dont think he has a website but he is on facebook and puts all of the photos on there - ive sent him a message asking when the photos from Sat will be on but not heard back. His profile pic is a man on a red motorbike if you want to message him :)
