With the horrendous weather Friday, and all last week really i shamefully admit to only getting to ride once last week! (hangs head in shame) I also couldn't get a last minute lesson, because id promised to take my friends horse to the vets Friday afternoon. I also made a last minute decision to change her to a waterford fulmer, to have a bit more say in things! So i wasn't feeling full of confidence for the regional.
Alarm went off at nice and early, and set off for kingwood. Arrived just as they started the warm up class, so tacked up hopped on board. We have been trying a new tact with this mare of doing very little warm up, as too much seems to send her over the edge! However upon canter to the first practice fence, she spat her toys out of the pram because i could stop her from running at the fence. So just jumped one more fence, and went in. She jumped a nice clear, and i had control so i felt a little better for the next class.
In the regional qual i was about 22nd to jump out of 68, so had time to watch plenty go. The course was jumping well, although afew didnt like the double of planks going towards home, and the people watching along the fence line.
Again warm up wise, we kept it short! She jumped a nice clear round, and felt like she was really jumping and listening. We had a long wait for the second round.. and plenty of people managing a clear.

Second round was shorten to fences 1-6, keeping a lovely problem causing stile in there at fence 5! I was 12th to go, and she managed to keep a hat on her excitement and jump another nice clear. At this point i was chuffed, as the last qualifier she had 8 faults, which was quite out of character for her. Me and my dad decided it didn't matter how she did in the third round, as she will of never jumped a course at this height.
2nd round - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxaRSsm1Gqg&list=UUeDkNIMjVJ4Keq3ATdailyg&index=2&feature=plcp
Third round came, and now approx 22 of us clear. I decided it wasnt fair on her to go fast, and was aiming for a nice treble clear to qualify us.. apart from a lucky rub at the planks, she jumped another fab clear!! BIG grin from me, and plenty of pats and polos for Soph.

So we are Scope bound, for two classes! Nice cup of tea, and cookies if you got this far!
CC welcome, however on watching these i have spotted yet more faults on my part to add to the list to be tackled! Including keeping my hands low.
