The mare I was riding last year (still compete a bit) has qualified for BN second rounds. I don't really know that much about these as she's the only horse I've competed who have been eligible for non-open classes so was hoping you could help – would there be any point in going for second rounds?

There are two jump-offs, right? How big do they get?

Thank you! I'm a bit clueless really...

Yes do it, it is good experience :) First round is 1m05, 2nd round is 1m15 (not against the clock) 3rd round is 1m20 against the clock but now all triple clears qualify you don't need to go very fast just within time allowed. The final at Scope is 1m10 in the first round and it is very quick.

Go for it !

I jumped in a 2nd round a while ago now and was surprised at how well we (or rather I) did. I've no idea how I qualfied as I was only jumping BN and wet myself at having to jump 1.05m in the first round and then we jumped clear so surprised myself by being able to jump 1.15m in the first jump off - not clear but not bad either. Well worth the memory!

they're quite fun in that its a different class , different format etc. to do instead the same old classes you do week in week out :)

Thanks guys, sounds like it might be worth a shot, though I doubt we'd go to Scope even if qualified. Mare is certainly not speedy in any way at all but she is jumping Fox now (though not with me I hasten to add) so it shouldn't be too taxing for her.
