British pony eventing shortlist for Europeans

hmmm ... does make you wonder how they choose their shortlist when you look at Spot On's results, especially this year ...

hmm... maybe the rider's on the younger side... tho i suppose this shouldnt really affect the choice. Do you think this can affect their decision?
and just looking at her record she's been eventing for 4 years so i suppose she's got to be at least 14? :s

Having had a quick stalk on facebook I'm not sure if the pony has been ill/poorly/lame? Just reading something on her wall made me think that, but I could be wrong.

Could also of measured out? But don't think the pony looks that big, but it did say in the guidelines if a pony measured out it could carry on doing the competition but would not be considered for the team.

So that's maybe 2 reason I could think of.

The pony measured out, as it was slighlty too big and the selectors dont wont to risk it I think. Must be totally gutting as they deserved the place!

Spot on measured out at Brand Hall 2009. As did another pony that has been competing all this year as a pony..... Cannot understand why that is allowed, and quite right that they should not be selected, however good and deserving we are not talking about ponies here. Bearing in mind that at competition and shod they are allowed to be 151 cm. Not only have they been competing as ponies but have been taking places/prize money from those who are acutally eligible. Interestingly, one pony very well placed at Brand last year measured in there then measured out a Necarne. It has been competing this season as a horse. Quite correctly imho.

To measure out they have to be nearly 15hh (153)

I kind of think if it got measured out last year then why carry on when Junior team is only CCI* now and ponies can do that.... one of the Ponies that was a Brand is entered at GLANUSK INTERNATIONAL CCI*......I did CCI** on my GB team Pony and they could still go for the JRN team and thats still a great thing to do

still sad for her and its a hard height to be cus you need a great pony to do Intermediate and move up the levels and get on the Junior Team.
