I've applied for the Newmarket one my interview is in a few weeks. Elf always says be prepared to unlearn everything though 😂 but good to get qualified and learn of course 😉

Newmarket is just closer to me, Doncaster and Newmarket course are the exact same

I had an interview before with em last year, I remember pretty much the whole day and was offered a horseracing week experience but i didn't go and opted for college for more thinking time/get a bit less nervous (backfired) so I guess this is round 2 for me 🙈

Thank you:)
May I ask how long the interview was, and what kind of questions they asked? (I often get carried away when talking about horses, so I want to be somewhat prepared😅)

It was good, an intro talk, fitness test then English and maths functional test, tour of the place then after that the 1to1 interview

Pretty much about..

Why racing, how you heard of the school, what do you know about it (I think?)

Riding abilities, experience, they'll ask for photos and videos potentially if you have ridden. Don't worry about this too much, if anything I was told its good I have only ever been out for an occasional hack here and there because its easier to learn than unlearn riding 🤣

Your exams and grades. Believe they offer functional skills

Have you been away from home before, early starts ect.

And what's your ambition in racing!

My interview is in less than 2 weeks. I am so nervous, I want to do it so badly 🙈 wish you luck!

Apply now if you can is my advice too. Last year I applied during GCSEs and it took 2/3 months to hear back
This year, I applied when everyone was settling for college or similar things. Applied on the 30th August and heard back on the 7th September! There's already spots taken in the future course dates that haven't even been uploaded on site from a mutual I know of

Have fun!!
