Just had the most amazing weekend with Dinger. He ended up overall champion coloured (ridden and in hand), 2nd in the Classic LW Cobs (full of HOYS cobs), 3rd in the HOYS qualifier class (again, full of HOYS cobs), Reserve Champion in hand cob and 2nd in the pairs class which we entered for a bit of fun.

Considering virtually every cob going to HOYS was in our classes and all the classes were full of professionals, I was absoutely delighted with him - he never stops trying, and in the evening performances really went up a gear, whilst behaving immaculately with all the clapping and cheering that was going on. He is such a fantastic horse. I really didn't think we would ever have another horse like Bob, but Dinger is doing his best to step into his shoes!

It was a very wet and thundery weekend, and I have to say very well done to the organisers for keeping everything running pretty much to time, and to the judges, some of whom got extremely wet! The new indoor stables at Addington are absolutely fantastic - and with 9 horses there from our yard, were much appreciated!

I am having a fairly horrid time at the mo for various reasons, and have had to find a new house for Toby and me at very short notice (told to leave on 18th August and moving this Wednesday) so this was a real boost.

Sounds exciting - any pics please? He sounds like a super star. Who have you got going to HOYS so we can cheer for you?

Am looking forward to seeing you at HOYS again I hope.

Sorry to hear you are having a horrid time - I hope things turn round for the better ASAP

No - he was sold over a year ago and the lady that sold him bought Red Andes (who was a 3 year old at the time). Red Andes was the reserve supreme at RIHS this year.

Executive Decision won a championship at the BSHA this weekend (I can't remember which one though!)

Thats fantastic news, Dinger is fantastic

Did you go to CHAPS?
Do you know what the results were, a friend of mine was competing and not found out how she did yet.

Would you believe it, I am going Thursday

Typical! Thursday is "boring" hack day so I don't go although I have a pass for the week. If work is not busy then I may try to sneak up there - will let you know if I am around.

We didn't go to CHAPS in the end as we knew he had a busy couple of days the following weekend. I don't know many of the results - what is your friend's horse called?

Oh shame you didnt go, hes called Arctic Nicoin have you heard of him?

Sorry - I don't recognise the name. I am not too hot on the coloureds as I have only been doing them this season

Well done you - we wanted to go down but it's such a long drive for us, and I couldn't get the tme off.

We were thinking of you all though, in all that bad weather....

(Actually, OH was thinking 'glad we're not stopping in that tent this weekend'!)
