I've had my mare a year now and after spending the time getting to know one another and dabbling is a bit of dressage and eventing it's very clear that showjumping is very much her thing. She is a little older at 15 and I bought her as a nice all rounder and for her easy going nature with me having two small girls. I knew when I bought her that her last owner was BS affiliated and she was registered. Well I've taken the plunge and become a BS member myself which has allowed me to access her passed record which is showing she has 368 points, £679 actual winnings and was competing up to 1.15m. My plan had been to start at British Novice and work my way up, more because of my abilities (I'm not ready to jump 1.15) not hers. My question is can I still do this given her points total? Or will I just be able to enter to open classes till I have caught up with her?

I don't post on here very often so please be kind.

That's great thank you, you have both confirmed my suspicions. I just wanted to check before I made of fool out of myself. We aren't far off the height we've won a couple of unaffiliated classes at 1.05 but I appreciate BS can be a bit more technical so wanted to start a bit smaller so when I make a mistake its a bit more forgiving. Lesson booked for tomorrow and lots of practice needed on my part and we'll get there.
