Well, SuperTam is certainly back on form :D

Tam's had a bit of a wonky pelvis, so it was touch and go as to whether I ought to go to Broadway yesterday, but we had the chiropractor out for her, who sorted her out, and said go for it :)

Warmed her up for dressage, and she was really supple, and holding herself nicely. Hadn't ridden her for 2 days before, so she was fresh, but that's not such a bad thing.

Went in, and did a test that I was pleased with. Some bits felt terrible, but watching them on video they weren't as bad as they felt, and then some bits felt brilliant, and the judge reflected this.

Was really pleased with a score of 31, my judge was quite erratic with her marking, but obviously quite fair, and not too soft, as there was a 61 ( ) and a 22.5 in my section! So I was towards top end of spectrum :)

We walked down to SJ, and she was feeling brilliant, before I'd even trotted. So raring to go - she hadn't jumped in 2 weeks. Managed to walk the course which was great. The course was quite big and airy I'd say, with jump 4 joy fences, which are my phobia! But it was actually a straight forward course.

Warmed her up and she was marvellous! Then slipped in early, and she jumped a whizzy, but almost perfect round! Flew them all, especially a big blue spread at 6! Made BE100 SJ seem tiny :)

Then went back and got ready for XC, and knew that I was in with a chance of a rozzie if I went clear. I thought the course was actually pretty tricky, and very hilly, but knew Tammy would manage if I rode properly(rare!)

Went and warmed her up, and she was really keen again. Still needed to be aware of the napping, though. Went to the start box and again kept her moving, which seems to be working.

She came out the box like a bullet, towing me into the first fence, and really feeling powerful. Jumped the first 5 perfectly on a lovely forward rhythm. Number 6 she fumbled with her feet a bit, but she settled again. Jumped a tricky furn around a tree combo at nine, a rail-trakhener double at 10, and a really mean combo at 11 and 12, which was step up, log on top of a drop, then 3 strides skinny rolltop. All brilliant until water, jumped in nicely, and then on the bank on the way out she stumbled, almost pecked with her nose, and the fact that there was a big table 2 strides away didn't help. boot-boot-booted and lifted her over though, and she was fine :) Finished the course nicely, felt about right speed-wise though, and mostly, I'd gone clear, and she'd made it feel p*ss easy!!

Soo happy, and went and discovered that I was 1 second off of the time, so 0.4 pens, but nothing big that affected anything. Then it was written up that I had come 6th :D Which was excellent, as there were 38 starters :) And best of all, I won £28, haha!

So now feelign like BE100 is just something that I can win rosettes at, and pot-hunt a bit! So I have entered my first BE Novice event! Scary, but exciting! I have my first Novice height one at Hambleden which a PC event, so I am
feeling positive now. I'm so relieved and happy :)

Pics to follow :)

I can't offer much I'm afraid, except a cup of tea and a chocolate biscuit! xxx

Well done, sounds like you had a fabulous day and well deserved. We were there on Sunday. Our day started well with a 33.5 dressage and a clear sj, but poor little Bonnie had two stops at fence 10 and she never stops. Lizzie jumped the alternative and came home with mega time penalties as she had broken part of the jump and has to be held up while it was sorted. However, she cut herself pretty badly on the jump and we do think she is a bit under the weather, as she was not herserlf last night and when turned out today, was not as exurberant as she ususally is, as some of the horses on our yard have had viruses, we think she might be a bit poorly. So its the week off for that young lady.

However, having a teenager who had done the same as you, my advice is expect the unexpected. Its a massive leap up, much harder from BE90 to BE100 and my daughter said she felt BE100 was getting too small. She's not having problems as such - the dressage is always good, showjuming is fine as well and she is a tiger xc. Its just a major step, you are really up with the big boys. Make sure you are ready for it and you will have a great time.

Good luck with it and

I definitely hear what you are saying Theory, and that's why I'm trying to squeeze as much preparation in as I can to ensure I'm really ready! I've had lots of talks with my instructor etc. and he thinks that with some final luittle things in the dressage that need a little tinkering, I should be okay.

I'm hopefully doing Borde Hill JON :)

Aw well done! Love your horsey :D
Good luck for your first novice! Im sure you'll be fine, I know a few people that did there first novice with a lot less prep (obviously you can't really compare different combinations) but and they were fine :)

Huge well done Izzie, a great result in what I hear were difficult conditions! Very best of luck for your first N I think you are very well-prepared and should be brimful of confidence :)

Thanks Katie, good luck to T at Aston-le-walls, she told me she was doing the JON there :)
Lots of compliments, and I'm so nervous and excited. I had a lesson on Tam and am going to have some more between now and the 23rd, I think I'll really benefit from them. My instructor has also told me to wear spurs from now on, so lots of learning how to use them properly :)
