so Brody has settled well , he has been with my mother now since may (a week or so after Storm left, see older thread)

he is now a completely different dog to the day he arrived, although some times still nervous he has found his voice, and place on the sofa!

he has more cloths then i do and my mother is busy knitting him his 3rd jumper, he is very happy to let her measure and "dress" him

he is happy to go for up to 2 hour walks with her now and although still stops and stares at people (spent the first 2 years of his lift locked in a crate in a garage) he is slowly starting to understand outside life more every day

however he does wear a collar full time, as although the garden has been "wippet-ed" he has a good leap and can squeeze though gaps i never knew where do-able

now before any one jumps on me, we have checked my mother home and ensured there is nothing he can get caught on and i have attached a small brake away on the bucket should he become caught

but its time for a new collar, we like the site hound/ whippet style collar on him but i couldnt seem to find many which will stand up to every day life for to long, he isnt a fan of water and i have enough saddle soap to do 100s of collars so leather isnt an issue but i dont want to spend £100 on a collar, but nor do i want one which crumbles at 14 days old!

so any one know where i can get a nice one?

ps on my work computer but promise to follow up with some photos of his lordship, who is firmly at home now and has brought my mother great joy in the darkest of times, althought with making us all jump on halloween when he leanrt to bark (blooming bit bark for a little dog!!)

have a look on facebook ... whippets uk or lurchers whippets and greyhounds in rescue or hairy sighthounds and lurchers , there are always posts about collars on them

Black dog, I have a lurcher collar that was bought for Lil about 13 or 14 yrs ago, the leather is still in get condition although it does need re stitching.
Also the dogs bitz are good too.
Both online if Jan's is still going

To give you some reassurance, all of mine (2 sighthounds and a gremlin) all wear house collars with no issues.

I got both of my pair their sighthound collars from my friends shop and I can find out the brand for you. Fizz's is 7 years old and has been used for daily walks, including getting soaked in streams and used to tie her at training and it's good as new. I think I've actually given it a good clean and condition once...opps!

I bought one of these for one of our dogs as, although not a whippet, he has a whippet shaped head and very little hair under his neck so many collars rubbed him. The one we got has lasted several years and is still very soft and doesn't rub. There's not much choice colour-wise but fortunately the red looks good on him!

I have a fishtail from Hide and Collars. I’m very happy with it however I do use it for walks only and have a normal 1” house collar with tags
