Bought a pair of Brogini Synthetic Boots at Your Horse Live last year. Put them away until the dressage season started (for me anyway!) in march. Loved them as they were so comfy from the minute i put them on.
I have worn them about 10 times and only for dressage - as in, I tack up, put them on, do my test/s get off, take them off. Always wipe them over afterwards and they have never got wet! Last weekend when i went to put them on i noticed the elastic insterts at the back had become frayed and the stiching was coming apart!!! Took them to our local shoe repairers but he said there was nothing he could do as the elastic was frayed so there was nothing to stitch them to.
Came home and googled - also did a search on here....
It appears that the boots only last a matter of weeks before they fall apart on a regular basis! FGS!!! Wish i had found this out before i bought them!
I didnt have the receipt or knew which stand id got them from, but thought I'd contact Bogini as it seems to me there is a manufacturers fault with these boots, judging by the amount of people complaining about them.
Took a load of photos showing that they were 'as new' and no wear on the heels/bottoms. and explained the situation. Was hoping for a replacement - and was going to take them straight to the shoe repairers to get some extra stitching /reinforcement to the back inserts.
Emailed Brogini with details and pictures - only to be told that without receipt ect they could not help! Now I know that legally they dont need to help, but morally they should IMO. They must know that the boots are no good! They must have seen that there is a maufacturers fault with them. But they 'cant help' me!
Not so good customer service in these day of economic crisis, they should be thinking of keeping customers, not p**sing them off...
rant over!!! I know they werent mega bucks - but im so disapointed as i really liked the boots!
Lesson learned - check reviews before purchasing.....
