Has anyone had to have a broken finger that was rotating straightened?
How did they do it if so? And was it successful?
Following stupid accident Tuesday i know have a decision to make as my little finger now bends under my ring finger :(

Yes, greenstick fracture. Mine was right ring finger and bent in. I'm a flautist so I had huge tantrums about it being straight. They put two pins in (GA), I was off work for 5 weeks + Christmas hols so 7 in total. Then Physio, apart from scar and slightly fatter finger it works as well as ever. The pins are still there. The physio was amazed I could do the exercises better than her even with a broken finger. This was about 11 years ago.

Thanks, Im a physio so quite important for job but also worried for riding as at present a good rein contact will be null and void. Did you have it cast or splinted post op?

Splinted day before op. Duh!! Then just a mighty bandage and a sling I think (looong time ago), definitely no cast. No question of riding at that time. I kept asking to go back to work and the surgeon told me off).

I went to Ikea midweek as my first public outing post op. It was awful, felt like everybody was aiming for my hand.

eta: riding is not affected now. My finger "sagged" a little for a while but there really is no difference in position, dexterity or strength now.
