Broken hip- second time around- and riding

I’ve just had a fall from my horse and broken my hip. For the second time. The first break was about 15 years ago and it was pinned and plated. This time I haven’t had any surgery, for various reasons, so it is to heal on its own. The break is in the same place as the original and I’ve been assured that the original site is strong. Hip replacement was also decided against, as the outcome for an emergency replacement would not be as good as a planned replacement eg for arthritis.
So, I’m just wondering if anyone else has been in this situation and has got back to riding. I’m a very fit and active 60+

Give it time and dont worry. And once the medics say, do all the physio. I have not had a riding injury but I have learned that continuing to ride in old age means allowing time to pass until one is well and fit to ride again and, once back in the saddle, doing things in moderation. Like not cantering for a time.
One of the benefits of old age is that years of riding are not wiped out by even a longish break. I had a whole year off due to covid and more recently due to holiday, 4 weeks with no riding. Just expect to be very tired after riding once you resume.
