broken horse again - vibes and ideas please

Some of you may remeber me posting a couple of weeks ago about my horse who had cut his leg (by his stifle) theres a pic around somewhere. He has been sound now for a week and half ( 2 weeks after he'd done it) and has been working well jumping etc. and looks like it has healed almost perfectly. was supposed to have a jumping lesson 2day and warmed up in walk and trot fine jumped practice jump and he landed on 3 legs (holding up his bad 1)

jumped off immediately, now this area around the cut is sore now wen you poke it! so the only thing i can think of is it now has an infection in (it has been kept as clean as possible) and he had antibiotics for a week as soon as he did it.
Vet is coming out in morning if he is no better. What do you think can be done, the only way I can see them geting anything out is to cut it completely open again?

Don't worry to much i'm sure it will be fine, might well be worth getting the vet again if your worried. Please don't take this the wrong way but i think you may have just rushed him back into work a little too soon. I'm sure with a little more rest he'll be fine.
 
Thanks lottie, ive tried not to rush him and just done a few days building up then just 2 x poles on wed and hes has had 2 days off this week, but you may be right. i thought i would have shown up as soon as i started riding him tho? seems strange its now 3 days afer his 'hardest work' hes broken again and he was ridden yesterday and thurs flatwork and he was fine

aggrrrhhh, horses!!! hes now back on box rest and stable bandaged again!
 
Horses indeed, he's no doubt clocked the hideous weather and decided box rest is a better deal!! Hope he gets better soon.
