Broken leg! Which boots best?

After recently breaking my leg (tibia and fibula), I was just hoping for advice on good, supportive yard boots which are easier to get on and off than the standard Dublin river boot types please. Currently thinking of possibly the Dublin Pinnacle but have seen they come up small on the calf and would really prefer ones with a zip for ease of use.

Also any preference of riding boots too please? Had Ariat Bromounts and loved them (before the paramedics cut them off 😰) but wondering if decent jod boots and chaps would be more supportive?

this sort of brace inside mountain horse lace up ankle boots works well for both yard work and riding. If you are doing anything risky and need even more support you can bandage the brace on your ankle and there is sufficient room in the boot to still get it on. I also put a pair of half chaps on as well. by the time it was all on it was pretty firm and good support for riding.
 
After I broke mine, I found that Ariat jodh boots with close fit gaiters were the 1 thing that gave me best support. I even contemplated wearing them to the office in the 1st 3 or 4 months.
I do use my Bromonts for hunting, but actually still prefer the jodh boot/gaiter combi for comfort & support.
Even now, just over 3 yrs on, they are still the best for the weak leg, tho I am riding in the winter in my Grasmere's as they are roomy enough to have a small brace on inside the boot.

It will depend exactly where the fractures are. Try different ones in shops. My fractures were fairly low down (ankle area) I couldn't put my foot in long boots or wellies. I needed boots with adjustability to allow for swelling, so had to have a zip at the back and laces at the front.
