And been booked in for thoracic x ray as A&E only x rayed lumbar. Ridiculous pain at lower thoracic area so GP wants that looked at and also booked x ray for my foot.

She asked what hospital said, so Dan and I told her, no breaks, just very badly squashed and tender. She looked at computer to see the notes and said, "oh, you've broken your pelvis then".

Seems like the registrar should've gone to specsavers!

Wait, so they missed that you had a broken pelvis and said there were no breaks?! That's ridiculous! I have a friend who badly broke her pelvis when she fell off a rowing machine (glamorous, I know) and she took a cushion with her absolutely everywhere for about 2 months. That's all the help I have to offer I'm afraid, awful registrar but at least you found out sooner rather than later!

My 4 year old got scared by something and reared straight up and over onto me. Luckily i was able to scoot back so she landed on my bottom half, not my top half and pulled her to the right so she landed on her side and missed my chest and head.

Bloody registrar said, "no breaks, everything is fine, just very tender and swollen. X ray of spine also was only lumbar spine, but i have quite severe pain higher up and in my heel, so having those x rayed as well.

So, i am not invincible after all. Mind you, can't say i'm surprised...i clearly remember my back hitting the tarmac and then her weight crushing my lower body.

Still very lucky though!

I only went to the GP as was concerned i might need an x ray bigher up on my spine. My pelvis is very sore but not massively painful (but i do have a very high pain threshold. I only shed tears when examined in A&E and today at the GP. It was when i told her i couldn't really lift my right foot more than a few inches without help and she looked to see if the notes were available. Dan and I just stared at each other when she said it was broken!

Jeez im so glad you got further investigations and and im sorry missing a # pelvis is a bloody disgrace. From what your last thread described i was a bit surprised you hadnt injured yoursel more severely than some bumps and bruising. hooe you get things sorted and some decent pain relief.

If you were one of the posters that told me to get myself checked again, then thank you.

I suppose i was only saying it was a 3/10 on the pain scale...well, until he examined me anyway, then it shot through the roof and made me well up a bit, but i guess if i had been screaming and shouting, he might have looked a bit harder?

My dad broke his back in 3 places in Feb. He went back 9 weeks later as still in pain and the consultant looked at the original x ray and saw the breaks clearly. Worst is, he was told to move around as much as possible. Luckily the pain stopped him. The second consultant said if he had been too active, he could have paralysed himself.

Not on really is it. I thought it was a bit lucky to have a 500k horse land on my back hip and not do any damage.

sounds familiar...
i fell and was sent to A&E by ambulance. the first doctor said i was fine and no need for an x-ray. the second one came along and did an x-ray anyway. it turned out i fractured my back and spent a week in hospital and 6 weeks in a metal frame!!! you tried to trust them and their judgment but u just can't!!!

Wow...you poor thing! X

More x rays on my spine today...the swelling is ridiculous...I can feel the fluid wobbling and my normal size 12/14 trousers won't get over my hips, not even close. I think my back will be black when the bruising comes out.
Foot also x rayed and pelvis a bit sore this evening, but I went to see Molly and Fly earlier. Molly is 100% fine bless
her and fly was guarding me as I walked through her field with my crutch. I am pretty slow, so she would walk faster than me then stop, turn her head and watch me as I caught up. When I got to her head, she would muzzle me really gently, then start to walk again. She didn't walk any further ahead than me being at her bum. Was so very sweet. I did go in with Molly but only to give her some treats as she is a bit more playful so I can't move quickly enough if I need to with her.

Definitely going to try and stick to the standard dismounts from now on, lol.

Just an update.

Had MRI on Friday as consultant called to say pelvic break was left side, not right, but pain was right side.

A few hours later I was told that pelvic break was very old, probably done as a kid or even born like it. No breaks or fractures at all...just very severe bruising to pelvis and spine.

Also, radiologist looked at all x rays again and foot fractures are also very old breaks.

So there you go. Nothing broken!

Gosh, they have put you through the mill! Well, I hope the bruising comes down swiftly after all that. Speedy get back on Molly vibes.

Thank you. I did snap my intraversal or whatever it is called ligament alongside my spine two night ago...impact obviously damaged it and it went snap...ouch! Should be on board in a few weeks :-)
