Tried jumping Otto last night for the first time since the problems at keysoe last wednesday.
During the flat warm up i was not convinced he was 100%. Nothing i could put my finger on, just a feeling.
Jumping he was more like his old self but still not right. Several times where he would normally go on the long one he was chipping in a short stride, felt like he was protecting himself.
Now convinced his back is not right. Apparently he and his field buddy were being idiots the day before keysoe so I'm guessing he has tweaked something.
Will take some time to get the back person out (very popular) so I cant see us competing again until early feb.
It's going to be a long boring january

Thats a bugger, poor Otto. I thought it was odd that you hadn't done a Moulton rpt from Sun.

PM me who your back person is because if its who I think it is then I use someone that trained with her?? Maybe completely wrong, but if I'm not it may help in the interim??

Wouldn't have been at Moulton if he was OK. Choice would have been Moulton unaff - first prize £10, Addington BSJA - first prize £50. No contest

Will be at next Moulton unaff though but with different horse I have just got the ride on.

I use Tomasina.

i'd feel his legs very very carefully at night too, see if there's any heat or swelling at all. chipping in an extra one has been an early symptom with a couple of mine that there's a little something there, and that they're already thinking about the landing stride. just a thought. sorry if it worries you even more though!

No it doesn't

I'm already paranoid about his legs.

Fortuneately all seems fine in that area. Convinced its back related as he also seemed a little grumpy when i saddled him yesterday which again is something he doesn't do.
