Does a Brood Mare class mean that she has to have a foal at foot or be in foal to compete? My mare has had foals in the past, and I think she would go well in hand, The class simply states Brood Mare over 14.2HH, the next class though is progeny of the above?

Usually, they won't accept entries without foal at foot or in foal; sometimes they make exceptions for mares that have lost the current foal but I personally think it's hard to ask a mare to show herself well in those circumstances. You can only ask the secretary.

brood mare means in foal or more normaly with foal at foot. If your mare is not in foal or does not have a foal then she is a barren mare even if she has had foals in the past and will have them in the future. If the mare is in foal then you will normaly be asked to produce a covering certificate.
