Had a busy weekend with both Hils and Blitz out competing.
Well yesterday was Blitz's turn and we went to Brook Farm to do two novices.
Have never been before and it is a really lovely venue which was immaculate and very well-run. We are planning to do their next competition in March.
Blitz had obviously heard me saying how easy Hillock was to do and decided that he wanted to be just like his big brother as he was an absolute star to do and get ready.
Had a really good run in the lorry and arrived in plenty of time so had a good look round.
He came off the lorry and was really good to get on and went in to a virtually empty warm-up which was a bonus. Warmed-up the best yet and went in.
He did a nice test, he is still a little green in the arean but is getting better all the time. He popped in a change instead of counter-canter and did a little buck in the second canter transition and practically fell over in the trot transition back from counter-canter.
However despite thise got 65.7% and won overall.
He then went back on the lorry and had a snooze.
He came off refreshed and when he went back into the warm-up, he was blown away but a tiny grepy pony and proceeded to stand up and wave at me! OH did a really good job of keeping him calm and focused but he admitted that he didn't warm as well as he could have done. He was mesmorised by the little pony for some reason!
Did the most fluid test yet with just one costly blip when he exploded into canter. He got 66.7% and finished 2nd overall and in the open.
Gutted he just missed out on qualifying but really pleased with how much he has matured in just a few outings.
Will post some pics later.
