Browband for in hand coloured class

Google is not my friend! I was asked this question this morning, and from what I can find, ridden coloureds should be shown in a plain browband, but what about in hand? Is a coloured browband correct?

A coloured should be shown as a type - so if a horse is a hunter, cob, traditional or native (plain browband, tweed jacket), riding horse (coloured browband, tweed jacket) or a hack (coloured browband, navy jacket). It a man is showing a hack type then he would wear a tweed jacket, just to confuse the issue!

If a pony, then shown in a plain browband/tweed jacket for a show hunter pony, native, cob, traditional and a coloured browband/navy jacket for a show pony.

So far as I know you use what you would in a ridden class. So it depends on what you would show as. If its a cob or a hunter etc you would use a plain browband. If it would go in a class where a velvet browband would be used then its OK to use it in hand.

And same tack inhand. Hacks inhand wear coloured browband etc etc
 
:) Okaayyyyyyy. That's very interesting, thank you all, and probably why I was confused :D

How about a 12.2 pony of indeterminate Irish breeding which is definitely not a show pony but is not shown as a native (ie he is trimmed and plaited)?
 
How would you turn out the rider, if he had one. If tweed I would go for the plain, if Navy then fancy. But perhaps if there is no definate right or wrong, then which suits him best.

Some coloureds look great with the right fancy browband, some dont
 
Ah, I suppose as he's in hand the handler will be in tweed/dark trousers (he has white legs) so plain? He is marked like a Belted Galloway :D so his head is almost completely black with a tiny star, and I do think a black/white browband would look good on him, but I do like to be correct if possible :o

Show hunter pony - plain browband and tweed jacket.
 
We've got a 2 year old coloured Irish Sports horse, who is already about 16hh! We want to take her to an in-hand youngster class - what would you suggest for bridle for her and attire for my partner who wants to do the showing....? (male!) :)
