Frodo's bling browband died the other day  All the crystals fell off

So I need to buy a new one asap. He normally wears a drop noseband and has a VERY large head. Therefore I think I should go for curved again, even though I am not a huge fan of curved browbands. (At the moment he has 'emergency replacement bling' which is a straight browband with topaz crystals and I must say it doesn't suit him that much).

I am thinking black crystals. Specifically this one (no. 909 in black)

Any other suggestions?

A couple of face shots if you need a reminder of what his big head looks like :D

I have a Albion Black Crystal one, which is huge and whilst not curved, has taken on that shape because it's so big on Moos head! I love it though, subtle enough that no one notices it but when it catches the light it really sparkles.
I also have a Rainbow Hematite Pearl one from Bling My Bridle, that is lovely, it changes colour from Gold through to purple depending on how the light catches it. But Im not sure I will use it for comps as its a bit too blingy! I really want the Black/Grey Hematite Pearl version, so may order that at some point!

Thank you!

MD, yes I did like the old one (plain crystals, a v.cheap browband from Loesdau) but it only lasted about one year....!! (Never mind, the whole bridle was less than £30 and the rest of it is still going strong :D) but I thought I may as well change colour now that I have to buy a new one!

Kirstyhen, does your Albion browband have large or small crystals? I have the standard one (with the white crystals ...gift from my lovely saddler when I bought an Albion saddle!) and despite the fact I've rarely used it, it's become really droopy (which I love, a far more 'natural' look than the curved ones, which look more artificial). I would really love it in black but I am not sure I like the small crystals. I like the huge 'Tiffany' ones *polishes halo* Does it still shine in a, erm, substantial way? I am worried it would be *too* subtle LOL :D

I have a Albion black crystal one looks great very understated ( I also a few more blingy ones in various colours too ,for different moods you can't always go out in a little black dress!!

Very true :D I am building a collection, though! Good job I will *need* all of them when it's work time for the babies too *phew*

I think the Albion one would be too subtle for an out an out Dressage Diva, I only do half hearted bling :p
The crystals are teeny and not hugely sparkly. We don't like to have too much attention!

Yes you're right, probably too subtle. My Albion plain crystal one is too subtle and the black one is probably even more understated than mine!

I don't know what's happened to me, I wasn't like this two years ago

ooo....I like the Topaz & Copper

We have similar taste tbc .... that's my absolute favourite but can't buy it as it's too similar to Rauti's (topaz, copper & brown pearls)

I have a black diamante curved one. A very cheap and cheerful eqvvs one, ideal if you can't 100% decide if it's what you're after? Fwiw think that style will look lovely on Frodo x

Oh but its SO pretty, if its you favourite then I think you have a duty to buy it so that when I come visit I can see it in the flesh so to speak and decide if I want one :p

Maggie (also huge head) had a curved Schockemoehle with brown crystals:

Loved it, but crystals fell out, and now she has this – the crystals are black so very subtle (more than it looks in this picture)

The Schockemoehle was from Dressage Deluxe and the black one I bought in Sweden, but have seen similar ones on eBay.

WHAT AM I LIKE - I'M A SHOW JUMPER FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! :D

Aah guys thank you so much, sorry for late reply, I was/am drowning in essays :(

Some really beautiful ones, I did toy with the idea of having a customised one with the Bavarian colours maybe (as he's Bavarian), Tempi's link has got lots of nice ones and much cheaper than Otto S too....

Dotilas, re. the USA ones -- one of my fellow liveries has three of those, in similar patters but different colours, and they are TOTALLY stunning (super quality and just oh so pretty) but I do believe that only an equally stunning horse can pull them off -- she can have them because her horses are amazing (as in, international-quality amazing), but on my little WB I think they'd look over the top :(
