Brown boots for dressage??

So if anyone has seen my thread about my Tredstep boots you will know what has happened but basically I have been arguing with Tredstep for some time for them to replace my faulty riding boots and they have finally done it! They came today .... but they are the wrong colour! They are brown :(

I know I am going to have another massive fight on my hands to send them back and in all fairness they are beautiful boots and really to fit me perfectly ... better than my previous ones despite them being the same size and model.

My question is .... IF I did decide to just keep the brown ones .... Would you wear them for dressage and if you did what colour jacket, hat jods ect would you wear.

I have a few different coloured jackets at home and I have jods in white, cream and a darker beige colour. I was wondering if I could make a new competition outfit with what I already have.

The only thing is my hat is a navy blue traditional Charles owen velvet one and I have literally just purchased it so I don't want to be shelling out for a new hat.
 
Brown boots will be fine for dressage and I personally would team with a navy jacket and hat (this is what I wore when I used my blue jacket), the only colour I would say no to is wearing them with a black jacket. I'd also try cream breeches as I think that would look quite nice, but I wore mine with white breeches, my boots are the ariat bromonts in brown for a colour reference.
 
I wear brown boots/jacket/hat when i went out to dressage on my old palomino boy as he had brown tack and it just looked a better picture over all. Will be doing the same on my chestnut too. It does look nice. Only use black if i'm on my hubbies horse as he's dark bay and looks smarter with everything black.
 
I have brown boots for dressage, I did have brown tack but now have black. I wear beige breeches and a navy ayr 8 and either my navy pikeur jacket or my green/navy tweed :D
 
Thank you all I do have some beige breeches and a lovely navy velvet hat. If I can dig my navy jacket out (that I have somewhere) I assume I would only need to purchase a cream stock as mine is white??

Would that be ok? :)

Sorry to hear you had trouble with tredstep I just bought the brown ones at badminton and imo they are a much better quality than my black donatellos but they are nearly 2yo now but they were and arse to break in, the brown ones are soft and lively after one ride, I also didn't have a problem with the zip which is also much stronger than my last ones!

I'm going to wear mine for everything including dressage with either my blue or tweed jacket. My tack is also brown though
 
I wear brown boots. Mainly with beige breeches and either a navy or brown jacket. Have worn them with white breeches too but not recently as only bumbling in low classes. I also have a cream saddle pad which helps

I must admit I love the boots and the quality is much better.... which makes me want to keep them. I think I'll invest in a navy jacket ;) haha xx
 
I currently wear brown boots, tweed jacket, cream jods,shirt and tie for dressage. When I was competing novice/ele on my older chap I wore black boots, white jods, black jacket and stock. I have just stared competing my exracer and I felt totally over dressed in black and white!!!! All the gear, no idea type thing!! I felt tweed was more understated!! Once we really get going it will be black and white again!!

Oh wow!! That is a lovely jacket! you've tempted me too now ... I should be responsible as I've just bought my first 4x4 and also am on the look out for my first trailer ... so maybe I should go for a £50 one instead... But wow that is tempting!

I think you should buy it!

Lol! it is stunning but I think I will have to start saving for it! Also, I would want to see it in the flesh as I am not a fan or really short jackets! But I do love that you can customise it :-)
