What is the general consensus on brown boots for ridden showing? Local level only, some working hunter and possibly ridden cob or coloured classes with the little cob.
I need some new long boots, and fancy some Ariat Bromonts in brown, but as I hunt too, and will be doing some showing, are they appropriate or should I just stick to black?
Thanks!

As long as you only wear them with tweed brown boots are, I believe, completely acceptable for both.

If you're wearing a solid jacket they should probably be black :)

If you want to be very correct, brown boots should be worn for cubbing only.

But since the new rules and regs I have seen a lot of hacking jackets being worn after opening meet so brown boots could be worn along with the jacket.

AA - I tend to wear rat catcher after opening meet anyway, I ride a fat little coloured cob, and get mistaken for a teenager a lot, even though i'm 24! At a hunt fun day (where we came 4th out of god knows how many in Chase-me-Charlie, even beating the Whips  !!) a chap whose young daughter was riding said to my mum "Is that your daughters pony? Its got a lovely pop in it. How old is your little girl?" LOL!
