Hi, can anyone point me in the direction of some long brown riding boots, under £200 wide calf. I love the mountain horse high riders but they don't seem to sell these in brown anymore! Looking for something similar I do t like laces! but all I can find in brown is field boots.
Thanks in advance xxx

Mountain Horse Sovereigns. Just bought a pair in the brown and they are truly awesome!

Eta: they are a bit over budget but worth saving for!

Toggi Calgary. Bought these last year and love them. At first I thought they were a little long (I'm 5'9") but they dropped just a little and are just right without being baggy round the ankles. Think they are around £85-90 - look for sales.

brogini ostuni - more of a chocolate brown than the chestnut brown they look in the pictures though ;)

It's worth looking at second-hand ones, actually - I got my tan ex-display Hawkins boots (size 6 with an XW calf, which was a nightmare to find) on Preloved for £80 plus postage; had a pair of garter straps made to match for about another £15, and now they're perfect.

Finding spur straps to match was a bit interesting, because tan is a slightly unusual colour for boots, but I got a pair of Caldene ones (which, given they're to match my side-saddle boots, is enough for both my blank spur and an actual spur with a small shank if I ever decide I need one) on eBay.

Of course, if you don't mind zips (which I hate because I always manage to break them), you have slightly more options of what to buy. I haven't had boots from them, but based on the quality of other items by the same people, I'd second the Tuffa recommendation if you're buying new. Or Regent do some very nice ones, though they might be a little more expensive than you'd like - I haven't checked the pricing in a while, I'm afraid.
