Does anyone do this? Or is it a big horsey faux pas?
Getting my first dressage saddle (possibly) tomorrow....will it matter hugely if its black? Finn is a funny shape and I'm doing this on a budget so should I focus on price and fit before colour?
Also my friend has offered me her jumping saddle. This too is black and will be using this with my brown bridle...IF (big if) it fits should I worry about colour?
VERY excited as I've never had anything other than a GP

Thanks

TBH if you're bridle's havanna you'd have to look pretty closely to even realise. Could always buy a cheap black bridle if you're overly bothered but I personally wouldn't worry too much

I have a black bridle and brown saddle and tbh, its never bothered me in the slightest

Who cares what colour tack is, as long as it fits thats the main thing

Yeah! We also have a brown bridle and black saddle - due to pony changing shape and having to borrow wider saddle!!

I think we should put it up for the 2009 'Must-Have fashion statement' for eventing!!! Then everyone will copy us!!

It won't mater- and if it is very noticable if you put oil on your bridle the night before it will turn a very dark shade. And the speed Finn goes at no one will notice!

Thanks

NoSurrender- yh lol! Youve hit the nail on the head there!!

Will my brown stud guard be too noticable? Or does that just need lots of oiling?

I groom for my OH who is a pro and he uses his one favourite saddle on every horse no matter what colour everything else is... Just back from Dublin and used a black bridle and brown saddle in the Young Event horse class
Wouldn't worry one bit about it TBH....
