I have a dilemma I have a ODE (subject to weather) next Sun and my long leather boots are too big - causing them to slip down resulting in me not being able to use my legs effectively for fear of them falling off. I have recently purchased Mountain Horse Xcellsior half chaps (look like leather gaiters) and was wondering if I would be allowed to wear them? Otherwise any suggestions how to get my boots to stay up (until I invest in some new ones)

Ok just seen in rules have to wear with tweed jacket - so that's out the window. Can anyone recommend some close fitting leather boots

is the ODE vbeing run by the PC? I have done a ODE in chaps and short boots but depends on what rules the show is run under I guess

Normally British Riding Clubs - I dont have a copy so no idea sorry. The one I did was PC. Might be worth seeing if they are on the website or contact them.

I believe Gaiters are ok under all rules and if your chaps look like gaiters, I cant see a problem?

Maybe worth checking with the secretary before sunday though

PC rules allow chaps/gaiters as long as they are same colour as boots, so brown/brown should be OK, RC rules are probably similar. BE and BSJA allow leather gaiters.
