My horse is recovering well from his bout of Lami he had in June.He is out 24/7 on a small (1/4 acre) sheep grazed paddock with my other horse with soaked hay and only fed Fast Fibre and Top Spec Anti Lam.The farrier has been out again this morning to trim and re fit shoes.Whilst he was trimming up he showed me some bruising on the sole..Near fore it was old bruising (rotated bone) and off fore was fresher (but not new) bruising.I only noticed it today as i check feet daily and Anti-Bac for preventing Thrush....Would Epsom salt tubbing help or should i just leave it to Mother Nature..He is sound on soft and hard ground.Just wondered if it would bring the bruising out quicker..Thank you.

I think the main danger with bruising in laminitics is that they become infected and turn into foot abscesses. So the important thing is to disinfect the site daily if possible. My mare had some wet bruising when she was last shod. I cleaned and dried the sole and then sprayed with terramycyn which is an anti biotic spray. As she is now not in the muddy field and instead turned out on the sand every day, it has kept itself pretty clean and the bruises have dried up and come out.
