Some of you may remember that in January 2013 my family adopted a dog from the dogs trust. All we they said was that he came from Ireland, hated his neck being touched but he loves people and dogs. That wasn't strictly true!
Bruno was a scared 6-Month ish old puppy. He was scared of people, dogs and many other things. Unfortunately he was nervous aggressive. He nipped at people and really went for a few and the same with dogs. Major freak out. He went for me, my dad, cats, dogs, skateboards. It was horrendous. I contemplated putting him Down as I loved him so much but he was un bearable to live with.
Fast forward two years and boot camp with tonnes of advice from here and we've turned a corner. He now likes most people (still wary) but greets them but still doesn't like kids (that's okay, he might never like them but we don't put him in that situation where it could be an issue) and he tolerates having his neck touched, collar on and off. He now knows a few commands and is generally a 100% better although he forgets his name when chasing a rabbit ;) oh and he loves balls so that is our distraction technique. Slightly obsessed!

The most amazing thing is that Bruno has friends. All female and older but hey! We currently have a friends dog staying with us and he's sharing his bed with her and his food ball! This is the little jack Russel pup who was walked at midnight as he was bloody horrible!

I couldn't be prouder of my little pup, might not seem a lot but I could cry at how much he's changed. There are 2 dogs sat on the sofa, sleeping. I never thought this would happen!

Just had to share

Congratulations, I love a happy ending, you have saved this dogs life with all your hard work and patience

Well done for not giving up on him, the difficult ones are always the ones you ending up loving the most. A major fail though for the DT, I thought they had behaviourists and trainers on hand to be able to help people in a situation like this.

I love the one of him wearing his Xmas hat, I wonder if he has a bit of Plummer in him, crossed with a JR that would produce a feisty little dog.

Glad you stuck with him though, he certainly sounds a character..

He is very feisty. We know he's not 100% JR but god knows what else. We were looking at Irish terriers or fox terriers possibly. He's a character, loving, bonkers, brave and a happy soul. That Christmas was his first one I think. Stole the Brussels sprouts of the side... Haha. The smell was indescribable...

Hope you don't mind me putting the picture up for you.
