anyone had a brused hoof before my horse banged a fence with his back hooves and its taken 3 weeks to come out he has one white hoof and you can see it all the way round probably his black hoof is the same but you can only see the bruse as the hoof is white !!

My mare has brusing on her hoof wall, been told by vet and farrier not to worry about it as it was probally done a few weeks ago as it is now visable and she isnt lame.

my horse has quite bad bruising in a front hoof, no idea what caused it but hes been on box rest since september, needs heart bars and hoof packs and is likely to be in for another 2 months at least

He was hopping lame for a while though, so if your horse isnt that lame it probably wont cause much disruption. Obviously vet will give you a better idea!

Mine had an accident in a horsebox in october 2006. He went down and got his off side fore and hind caught underneath the partition. Have to say it was the scariest moment of my life because i couldnt see how he'd get up without breaking a leg.

Aaaanyway! he took a chunk out of his front hoof quite high up, bruised his hind ones (although the bruising took about 2 months to appear as it was right on the coronet line it seems) and badly cracked one of the back ones (horizontal crack about 2.5 inches in length).

Aside from a funky bruise growing down his hoof and a bit of trouble putting a shoe on the back one when the crack got far down, he had no issues really. They looked a bit funky but he's fine

Neither vet nor farrier were concerned in the slightest

Oh thanks guys, no he isnt lame and the farriers coming next week so he can have a look I'm not too concerned but it do's make you think never seen anything like this like I said if the white hoof was black like the other we wouldn't have known anything and just carried on regardless.
