I'm looking to by a complete new set of brushing boots/competition boots for my horse and I wondered what make people would recommend. I want some that obviously do the job but are also smart.
do you want boots with tendon protection? if so premier equine eventing boots are fab, good protection and good value for money.
if you are just looking for brushing boots, i have two sets of the mark todd 2 strap boot, which are great. good strike pads, wash well, and cheap
they also, interestingly, were scored highly in the your horse boot test, maybe have a look at this weeks magazine to get some ideas
i had the premier equine eventing boots and i hated them. They rubbed my horses legs and slipped down. I now have the N.E.W aircolled ones and they are fab! For SJ have john whitaker rubber and neoprene tendon and fetlook boots. would highly rec. them.
Had the clarendon boots before that and they were also very good!
Hope that helps x
I went down the premier equine route and came out with the same result as Charlotte125! Although I would recommend the company great cusomer service.
However my horse pulled his tendon about 3 yrs ago and when i started bring him back into work and turning him out I wanted something that would protect his legs, so i went online and looked. the premier equine boots were meant to be "air cooled" protect ect but his legs would get really sweaty.
So i went online again and came across the Dalmar boots. http://www.saddlery.biz/sp/templateid/78/searchbox2/Dalmar_Boots.html
They are great and really worth the money, I bought the speed boots and the Eventer hind boots. They both are "Aircooled" Plus they have Carbon Fibre Protection along the tendons and connon bone.
I don't have anything bad to say about the boots, I have used the front boot every day and they are still like new. The eventer boots are will fitted, at the front they are curved to allow the fetlock and pastern movement and exstend down at the back to the ergot.
Oh god... have just ordered some hind Premier Equine air cooled boots as only heard good things on here about them..... and my horse is a real soft egg when it comes to stuff rubbing... please .. lots of people answer and tell me they had no problems !! I don't need to end up with another pair of boots I can't use
