Which brushing boots do people recommend for cross country? We’ve got a set of woof wear ivent event boots and the hinds keep slipping when the horse is sweaty or after going through water. They weren’t cheap so I’m pretty annoyed!!

Any other recommendations for non slip boots? Thanks!

i have the lemieux mesh ultra snug boots and really rate them, we don’t event we just have a play xc schooling but they’ve never moved!

I use equilibrium trizone impact sport boots. They are super lightweight and don’t absorb water, and have impact zones on the front of each limb (good for solid fences) as well as the inside, and the back of the front limb. I used these all the time for XC, and in my current horse who is clumsy on uneven ground, she wears them just to hack out in too.

They’re about the only boots I’d have felt happy putting on a horse during that heatwave!

Following as also interested in this. Could those of you recommending the Trizone boots give an indication of size please? Mine seems to be on the border between medium and large.

I have the large brushing boots on my 16.3 warmblood (suitable on front and hind for him). On my 15.2 welshX they’d probably be a little long on the front but fine for hind.

I find they come up very large behind. I would definitely not go for a large even if horse is normally a large

I have the mediums for fronts and the large for hinds - they fitted my 16.3hh TB well, and tbh are a bit smaller on but still fit my 16.3hh ID mare as well.

Apologies mine are the trizone impact rather than just trizone. Seems to be making a difference to sizing but hinds are absolutely massive in size large (bought maybe 3 years ago so again may have reduced the size since then)

I use KM Elite Pro Mesh Hybrid brushing boots.
They are about £50, but incredibly lightweight, breathable and easy to put on. Wash beautifully and horses legs don't sweat up under them.

I’ve just ordered these so fingers crossed! I think the ivent ones I have are absorbing the sweat or water from the water jumps and basically slipping down, really surprising considering how much they cost!
