Looking to buy new full TB some boots- prob brushing boots, or Stretch & Flex Wraps by Equilibrium.

Any recommendations for any boots please?! (decent ones!)

I jsut got the new girly some TriZone cross country boots (or rather Father Christmas did!). Wanted all round protection for big youngster. When she is more balanced, and I get to use a school as opposed to a water polo pitch, I want to get the Stretch and Flex Wraps you mention. Warning: it took me four weeks to decide on boots! So many to choose from.

I used to have stretch & flex on my mare who is now on loan - loved them, they gave her protection against little 'prangs' but was still able to feel a bang if she did not pick her feet up enough over a jump.

The new boy is an ex racer, so will be unbalanced and obviously his legs will have had a hammering already - so I want to wrap them up and keep them safe, he is only 6yrs old.

? ? ? ? ?

I have the stretch and flex wraps which I think are good (not the ones that go over the fetlock as these rubbed).

I also have the older premier equine ones and they are really good as well. I have their xc boots as well.

I have two sets of Woof brushing boots, plus a set of tendon/fetlock boots by Woof. I also have tendon/fetlock boots by John Whitaker, plus reflective ones from Legacy....

The Woof ones are the oldest and the best, I always go for them over the others unless we are on the roads/competing then I use the others.

For use at home you can't beat double velcro Woof brushing boots

woof brushing boots are simply the best for schooling etc. imo

i have 2 pairs (front and back) that fitted my 14.2, and the same pair fitted merlin

they have finally given up on me after using them for everything - competing, schooling, hacking etc. after 5 years

and they were repeatedly put in washing machine

I agree, double velcro woof wear brushing boots - last for years and protect them where they need it, without rubbing. We also use the New Equine Wear cross-country boots, which are great as they protect without getting heavy if they get wet and muddy

I've had my WW double velcro boots for seven years now and they are still going - not smart enough for competing any more but over the couple sets of boots I have I always choose the WW ones, I need to buy some more before these fall to bits completely!
Any of the WW ones for me!

I have white trizone ones which aren't great tbh I got them second hand and they are now permanently grey and the straps are separating

Stretch and Flez wraps won't be suitable if you have a horse that brushes, then will just disintegrate.

As others have said, I've heard woof wear boots are very good

If he actually brushes, get some Woof Wear boots. If he doesn't constantly brush but you want to protect his legs just in case he knocks himself, the Equilibrium Flatwork Wraps would be fine (and keep the legs nice and cool!)

Equilibrium boots are rubbish! I used to manage a shop that stocked them and they were continually being sent back as they were breaking etc after very little use. The softer ones slip down and the trizone boots are too flimsy to be any good - velcro is too weak as well.

Stick with Woof wear- if you want simple boots then use the single strap ones (great for horses where you need to be able to get boots on and off quickly) or for more hardcore use go for the double velcro ones, they are excellent.
