Just wondering what boots you all use and if you use them?

I've currently got some Roma brushing boots but they don't fit either of my horses too well. I had Mark Todd ones in the past until she broke them which I liked.

I'm looking for ones that won't heat the legs up so any recommendations would be great!

Best ones for me are the woof wear brushing boots. Last for a while, easy to wash and clean, not too pricey and come in a range of colours. I also like the le mieux schooling wraps.

If I use brushing boots, then I use the NEW orthopaedic foam lightweight ones. Just because they are light, easy to clean and don't hold mud/water like neoprene

Another vote for Woof. I have several pairs to wear and wash of the basic single Velcro ones. One set is from my first horse years and years ago! They are looking a bit old but fully functional. I try from time to time buying better or more expensive ones but always come back to the same.
Love them.

Why do you need to boot? The reason why you are booting will tell you what type of boot you need. All brushing boots will heat the tendons - but depending on the reason why you are booting you might be able to use a different design boot to reduce this. For example a sausage boot might be sufficient to prevent brushing and doesn't cover the tendons at all. If the strike pattern on your current boots is low and fetlock boot might suffice.

If you are using them for protection for SJ or XC then brushing boots are not necessarily the right answer at all - they don't have strike pads in the right places so you may be over heating the legs without reason. If you are using them for protection on a dressage horse - same thing. You would be better off with pastern wraps or exercise bandages.

Its always better to start with why you want to use something and go from there...

If you don't want to weaken tendons by heating them don't boot. Sorry.

I really do not think that everyday schooling/hacking with bog standard brushing boots will heat tendons sufficiently to damage them! Fancy marketing has a lot to answer for.

Thanks guys! I'm torn between WW, Le Mieux and I do like the look of the wraps - are they any good for hacking? I also like the N.E.W lightweight ones

I've got Woof Wear brushing boots which I would use for schooling. East to put on, easy to clean and lightweight. Had them 3 years and a little tatty but plenty of life in them yet.

These days I only boot if I'm jumping (tendon/fetlock boots & O/R boots). I don't bother anymore for flat - purely for time-saving!!

B is no worse off from it, his legs are totally fine.

I bought some really cheap ones from Ebay. I think they were Legacy? They size them by number (1-4) and have the numbers stamped on the outside. I was surprised by how good they are. I bought them years ago when poor muscle behind meant my boy was very close behind but since he's done lots of strengthening work he hasn't need them for the last 5 or 6 years (hence why I've forgotten the name!)

For jumping I have the Premier Equine air cooled boots and they're really good. His legs never feel too hot after riding in them.

Those would be legacy ones! I've got some that I bought when I got my first pony about 10 years ago that still look nearly new! They don't fit Henry, but before then were in use not irregularly (but not daily).

Though I also really like the Tri-Zone ones and as others have said, the WW clubs. Henry's are Mark Todd ones and I wouldn't buy them again, I don't like them at all. I also have the LeMieux snug boots and XC boots, both of which I really like!
