Well it started off going so well. Pickle has been jumping fab recently in lessons, so decided as he won at dressage last weekend this weekend we would go have a bit of fun jumping. It was a big 3 day amateur qualifier show, so decided to do the 95 as a warm up then the 105 given we haven't SJ'ed for ages. 95 was fab, jumped double clear, but too slow for a placing. Unfortunately Mum couldn't work out how to work the ipad, so only got some very blurred pictures, which aren't worth posting. So full of confidence we headed in for the 105, which was 2 phase. Sailed through the first phase, and straight onto the jump off, and all was going well until....................................

My fault completely, a brilliant example of how not to ride. Poor Pickle he is a saint for putting up with my muppetry! But despite the rather unfortunate end, I am so pleased with how he is jumping, he has such a ping on him. I just need to learn how to ride!
So feeling a little battered and bruised I decided to take my old 20-something beastie out to some unaffiliated jumping as a winter treat. She loves going out, and whinnies every time she sees the lorry leaving, but normally I can't justify the diesel to take her out places. Pippa may be old, but she can still show the young 'uns how it is done. She flew round the 70 and 75, being her typical rather wild self. Which resulted in.................
Clever Pips, she managed to win both classes by over a 10 second margin
! The old girl isn't ready for retirement yet. Here is a gratuitous pic of her with her first rosette, my friend came second on her new horse so it was a good outing for the pair of us!
That is me pretty much all wrapped up horsey wise for Christmas. Pickle and Pippa are having a couple of weeks in the field to become hairy yaks, whilst I concentrate on getting my 3yo ridden away. Meanwhile Jem is playing the nanny to the 3yo, and I am hoping to give Jem a jump at some point and see how she fairs. She is on some fancy super duper joint supplement so quietly hoping she can return to event, but if not she can carry on doing dressage with Mum and nannying the babies.
