Hi,

I'm looking into joining the BS club membership as I think it sounds like a great idea but I'm debating if I should just join BS as a full member instead!

Currently jumping out around 3ft but she is quite young and progressing well! But finding it quite annoying competing against crazy fast turning ponies!!

Is any one a Club member? And has anyone been to any of the club shows and what did you make of them?

Thanks! :)

Sadly not in my area yet. But will join once they are doing it down south. Went to a couple of Mark Finn Clinics who is promoting the BSJA Club and am keen to join. Think it is a fab idea as I dont want to jump higher than 3ft tracks but do want BSJA courses!

OP, I would just do a full membership tbh! I joined last summer when my mare was 5 and I had baby eyes thinking the 90cm looked HUGE! I'm very much an amateur, and not done that many shows, but am now jumping 1.05/1.10m tracks. It's amazing how quickly you progress, and can also win your money back quickly, which you can't do with the club membership! Amateur shows quite often have classes starting at 70cm anyway :)

I have been advised by BS that if you are a full member of BS you can only compete at the new club shows HC :(
even if you and your horse have no BS winnings

Maybe give the club shows a go then join BS, intro shows start at 70cm and have prize money too, I think the club shows don't have prize money only a points system and at a tenner an entry I'd rather do the intro I think ;)

Very few intro shows down south run 70cms classes....they usually start at 80cms. In fact you're lucky if you can find more than one intro show a month anyway around here.

I too wad told i could only jump hc ad i am a full member.....not terribly helpful when you have two different horsed to jump...one of which would be ideally suited tp Club classes.

I think the concept might evolve though so it might be good one day.

If they had done classes up to 1.10m i'd have been there like a shot :p our local show centre is starting them alongside their trailblazers this month. I know the entries are the same price (£10 class) and that you get prizemoney at TB and not BS club but i'd far rather have a permanent record of our double clears and some points than the chance of winning an entry fee back but nothing to look back on in future years. our goal is clear rounds, not speed anyway so we only ever get lower placings that rarely have prizemoney :) they are running a scheme until september where you can enter without registering and if you do well and then register within so many days you can get the points and placing put on your record. might be a good way to start, see what its like without paying the £30 annual membership and if you like it can then join. BS also do a 6 month membership for national shows but think its about £120 so quite a bit more than £30 a year and classes at national shows around here about £14 or £15 so more expensive to enter too!

BS do a discounted rate for riding club members which if I remember correctly was £110 for horse and rider.

I would choose this route over the club membership - its always a bonus when you do well to be able to cover your expenses for the day and you will have a HUGE choice of shows to go to rather than just the 'club' ones.

We are full members of BS and in all honesty have found it to be fantastic value with a great range of classes etc. Were starting BE now to and that is an entirely different story......Im going to have to take up bank robbing in my spare time haha!

We've got a lot of club shows in our area & 1 place is advertising them for everyone but you must register afterwards if you want to keep your points. Daughter is full BS registered but I'm trying to find out if she can compete at these as she's having a bit of bother with him at mo so am reluctant to pay BS show entry prices. Also they are on a week night which is even better!!
