Has anyone done one of these training days before? I am doing one at patchetts next wednesday! Looking forward to it but also a bit worried. I put on the form I am competing at 80-85cm, although I have jumped 90cm classes I am not overly confident so would rather start smaller and build up

I wouldn't worry too much about the heights you are competing at. The early stages are more about having basic horsemanship skills....along the lines of Pony Club C test or lower

Our area hasn't even changed it's website since they decided that they were introducing this new system...and to be honest, i can't see anyone who is competing and 1.10m/1.20m or higher even considering doing it because it all sounds too simplistic

YEa, its really similar to the regular training except with logbooks and my trainer actually asks if weve checked tack haha! Friend and I felt a little babied in the lesson compared to how trainer teaches us normally, dont fret about it !! Go and enjoy.

i did one of the star training lessons on my horse which i do 1.10 opens and foxhunters rather than my novice horse, and it was all simple stuff, but was still a good quality lesson, i wouldnt worry about what height ur jumping. just go and have fun.

Yeah, sorry...i'm not saying the training sessions won't be good, but doubt the value of getting a logbook signed for some of the things in there

It's gonna cost you money at the end of the day as you're training time is going to be eaten into with form filling...and I can't really see any return on that investment at the moment

well, we had two bsja teachers for the lesson, one did all the paper work while the other did the lesson

simple time saving idea
