Rather than do three separate reports I'll put them all into one. :)

I'll start off with the BSJA (sorry haven't the heart to call it BS :p)- if you remember me posting about our rather disappointing area SJ report where we were eliminated. We decided we needed to get his confidence back after a knock like that (had a bad crash through a fence) so we took him to Slimbridge show which had BSJA on grass as well. So we took him right down in height around an 80cm clear round which he flew and entered the BN.

He flew the first round but we had one lucky rattle so we were through to the jump off. I was drawn near the end so had a good chance to have a watch and the other competitors were very fast and clean so I decided to try for a double clear rather than go for it. Unfortunately we had the planks down as it was slightly down hill and I let him run on a bit. But we managed a 6th place anyway so got a nice frilly! :D So a very good day, confidence restored and 2 pink frillies! :D

Some piccies from the 80.

Now whoever said horses don't enjoy show jumping I think Andy looks pretty happy. :)

Today Andy was off to area stressage.
After a firm talking to this morning explaining that he is a dressage pony so will he please behave like one not a pony racer. Upon arriving I soon realised we were very outclassed, we must have been the only person in a GP saddle and he was very small compared to the others apart from 1 or 2 horses (first time doing intermediate dressage so was a shock.) So we went in with the attitude that someone has to come last and it might as well be us. :p

After a good 1 hour warm up :o he was fabulous. My firm talking to obviously worked as he was very sweet wasn't fighting with me and we rode a nice test. We actually got a couple of 8s!! So pleased with him and the judge said that he was a lovely horse with promise just needs to slow down a bit. So we finished with 63.1% and quite far from last. In fact we placed about 12th so I was hugely pleased with the little guy especially as that's a personal best for him and our first 8. Pictures to come later. :)

And now for the introduction. This is Bill who I'm taking my B test on, he is the complete opposite to Andy. I'm pretty sure the only thing they have in common is the fact they are horses. This is my second time riding him and my first time jumping. His flatwork is normally way better than this but as he was out in the jump field he didn't really have 'dressage' head on but I was very pleased with his jumping, he isn't easy at all but very excited for B test now not scared. :)

So yeah that is all from now, Andy is having a well deserved rest tomorrow and have a lesson on Bill again on Tuesday so excited for that. :)

Oh my, that is matchy, matchy jumping to the extreme! Why all the same coloured fences?

Good luck for your test...stop looking down the shoulder for your canter lead ;) ;) :D

Doh! Hadn't even noticed that they were all blue! Didn't watch it all though. I like Bill. How do you feel on him XC? When is your test?

I'm not sure why they all match, probably because blue is the colour of the riding centre and as they only hold examinations and training there it doesn't really matter what the jumps look like. :p

Haven't xc yet as the ground was a bit hard hopefully going to on Tuesday. He's pretty much the same SJ though apprently so should be fine. :) Test is on the 25th.

I don't know why I look down on him, I never do it on Andy. :p

I didn't realise that, what horse was she on? :)

Lovely pictures.. Andy did very well, well done!! He is definitely enjoying himself :D

On a different note, Our 4x4's gearbox is shot so I have no transport at the moment to make the gallops.. Will let you know when we have something sorted though!

That's a bummer about the 4x4- it's not a Volvo is it after ours went on it we found it's quite a common problem with Volvo's.

Bill is one of the centre's horses but they've had him since he was a yearling. He really is a fab little horse I say little but I think I look tiny on him and he's 15.2!
