I hve just registered both myself and my horse however she has been imported so the BSJA has given her £300 winnings already. I dont think she has done any BSJA as only 6 and evented last year with a friend.

Any ideas what classes I am able to do or how I can get this winnings removed or lowered.

If you speak to the BSJA it is possible to get the winnings removed we imported a horse from holland and although he hadn't competed at all they gave him £500 because he was 5yrs, think we had to ring the dutch SJ to get them to confirm he hadn't got any winnings over there. If you ring the BSJA they should be able to tell you more

i dont know about removing/lowering winnings...

but with £300 winnings you are only eligable for Foxhunter classes (1m20). However you can enter any OPEN classes, with no winnings limit, at any height (as low as 70cm) and also the amateur classes which are 90cm, 1m, 1m10, 1m20 and i think they have created a 1m15 amateur class recently too.

you can get the winnings lowered but you have to have proof that the horse has NEVER competed in the country it came from even if it got 44 faults or eliminated and never got placed in a 70cm class

that was what they told us when we were horse hunting and came across a bargin horse and knew something was too good to be true as they couldnt prove that he hadnt done anything in Poland

i geuss theres probably a german eqeuvialant (SP??) of our BSJA which youd have to ring... but i would speak to BSJA first and ask them about the german eqeuvalent and then go from there depending on what they say......
my horse is supposedly imported but due to there being no records what so ever we cannot prove it and therefore he cant be considered an imported horse by BSJA..... do you have proof that your horse was imported? or do you suspect that it was?

The BSJA will give you the email address for the society in Germany, and if you email them with the numbers in the passport they should confirm that he hasnt competed there and the BSJA will remove the winnings!
