BSJA Memb question?????????????

Is it possible to join over the phone, I could send a copy of the passport by email?

Due to this atrocious weather and everything being cancelled we need to get out jumping before the PC Area SJ next weekend.

All that is on locally at a decent height is BSJA on Wed, that won't give us time to send the passport off to BSJA as it is needed for Areas next weekend where it will be checked.

There is a good possibility that horse will jump clear (she rarely touches a jump) so it is worthwhile trying to get some DC's or win some money.

I suppose there is always the option of jumping on a ticket if we can't sort it out, but will be somewhat peed off is she would have won something?

Why is it that none of our local show centres seem to run unaff above 95cm these days.

Horse and daughter usually event, but there doesn't seem to be much of that happening therse days!
 
I doubt will be able to process in time but give the BSJA a ring first thing Monday. I know they need to see the orginal passport. It may have to be a ticket.
 
I downloaded the forms and then faxed all the stuff over, the passport can follow, up to 28 days later, if after 28 days they havent recieved the original passport they cancel your results.
I did mine on a wednesday afternoon, and jumped at a show on saturday!
 
Sounds promising then, just need to rob a bank to pay the fees then!

Don't really have a window when we can be without her passport though as she has a busy Pony Club summer ahead of her as she is in Area Teams in all disciplines..
She also travels 2 or 3 times a week for rallies and lessons during the summer so needs her passport at all times.
 
In the past I've faxed the horse registration over on the thurs/fri and jumped on the weekend. (after getting the reg number over the phone) They send you a temporary card until you send in the passport

I joined and got sent the temp thingies, just need to send off the passport now. I have no idea what the deal is with PC but I know legally you only need the passport with you when travelling to compete, not for lessons. Any chance you could photocopy it, send it Monday special delivery to arrive before 1pm the next day and they then send it back the same way? Then you should be without it for less than a week?
 
i always do mine by fax. i know if you look on the BSJA web site they quote a special price for P/C members and there used to be introductory rate for new members. they charge £5 to send your passport back registered post. if your horse/pony has been registered before they don't need to see the passport. I had one and the passport was mislaid but i had the vaccination card she was a Grade A and they had seen the passport once before they let me re register her. And they did her a new passport with her breeding in as well as her breeding was recorded in the original and on her printout for £15 They are very helpful.
 
The PC members thing is a con, only effective for juniours on ponies! She will have to go for the 50% discount for new members as she is 16 next week.

The pony is 148cm but does not have a JMB so she can easily be a bit bigger or still be a pony as required. She jumps NOvice BE tracks easily so the striding up to 1.10 / 1.15 should be OK for her in adult classes even though her legs are short!

I'm not absolutely BSJA will accept her passport as it is a farmkey one that I did as she was mocrochipped, before they changed the rules to say vets had to do it.

it has been signed by a vet when vaccinations have been done though.

I daren't send her passport off just yet but in the middle of Aug it may just be Ok.

Will ring BSJA first thing tomorrow.
