Firstly, my horse was imported from France as a 6 year old (is now 11, rising 12) and we know he won nothing there - have his competition record. According to the registration form, he will automatically gain £2000 but if we can prove he had no winnings in France, will they take that off?

Also, am I right in thinking that as I'm 15, I can't own my horse? And is the ownership like BE, in that it doesn't have to be the legal owner written down on the form?

Last question, on my membership form it says parent/guardian and then asks for their membership no. Has my mum got to join as well or is that an optional box?

Thankyou

not sure about the first question regarding proving he hasnt won anything
my daughter was 14 when she joined and we put the horse down as her owning him yet at shows they name me as the owner so possibly your right in thinking you cant own him and yes a parent will have to join as a non jumping member.

you have to be 18 to register a horse in your name with the bsja. so your mum will have to register as a non-jumping member too so she can be the owner.

my horse came from holland as a 5 year old with no winnings and this was proved and the bsja put £100 on her card. so im not entirely sure if the rules may be different depending on country or what have you.

Yes, you if you prove your horse hasn't won anything then the winnings will bee removed. My horse was imported from Portugal so was going to automatically have an amount added even though he was only a 3yo on importation so couldn't have show jumped there! The BSJA were a pain in the a** over it TBH! One person said I had to contact the Portuguese SJ association however that was hell as I didnt speak the language...! I called BSJA back and then a different person said it was all sorted for me! So depends who you talk to in BSJA!

If you're a junior, one parent HAS to join as a non-jumping member anyway I believe. And the horse will be under their name.

You can just say your mum owns him.

I've done it before with no problems when i had a horse on loan and we registered him in my dads name without any complaints =]
