Grrrrrrrrrrrr so, so, so annoyed!!

Went to Langford Farms today, aiming to jump class 4 (1.05) and class 5 (1.10) Class 1 started at 10am so I got there at 1, allowing an hour per class. Big mistake. 4 Hours later, they still hadnt started my class!!

Yes the classes were full but they insisted on grading and rolling the arena after every class when it really didnt need it and werent moving people through quick enough.

The warm up arena was horrendous- 20m by 40m with a horrid deep surface that they only levelled once through the whole day so it was absolutely impossible to warm up properly without risking your horse's tendons.

We finally left after the 1.10 (I was first to jump thank god) at gone 7pm. They still had 2 more classes to get through!!!

Such a shame as this venue could be lovely and they were obviously trying hard but the whole thing was just a joke

The arena you jump on is huge and has a lovely surface, Moon jmped well on it but we were both fed up of waiting around for so long and didnt have a good day. Bring back eventing!!

oh poor u what a long time to be hanging around.I hate it when that happens, especially on a cold winters night. well lets hope they learnt from today and get things more organised and swift in the future!

It was, all equally annoyed I can tell you!!

langford farm has surfaces?!?! Used to live in new forset about 7/8 years ago when i show jumped my ponies down there, when all they had was grass arenas (with a bank too very exciting!) how times change eh?

was always busy and a long day out then if i remember rightly!

Arrrgh, do not say these things to me! I am planning our first BSJA outing next weekend and I hate SJ with a passion because of all the waiting around. So dull, although it may teach the pony to stand on the lorry...

Apart from the waiting, did you have a good day?

Eventers - ruining it again for 'proper' SJers. Go back to your muddy fields....

Oh dear, I was contemplating taking mine to Langford for some unaff as it's so close, but sounds like I'd better steer clear (considering they aren't exactly my tendons to ruin)! Shame, I remember it being really lovely there when I used to take my pony (and crash through the clear round

). I'm surprised they don't take more care of their surface, if they've enough time to tend to the grass surely they can whip a leveller round the arena every so often! Then again, back in the day it used to be flinty muddy warm-up... which would you prefer?! Deep surface or deep flinty mud?!

Fingers crossed this forecast weather will turn up this week and you BEers will get some runs before you all go and trash everyone's BSJA arenas!

What a shame as they have trying very hard at Langford to get things right. I do know that to keep the show going today they cancelled the unafilliated and moved the affiliated to the all weather arena just to keep some kind of show going so I don't think today would have been like a normal event and like everyone they are struggling because of the weather.

Also with so much cancelled I'm not surprised the classes were so full, but it's a shame they couldn't get through the entries quicker.

I've just got back from The Hand....spent an amazing 7 hours there!! Rarrrgghhhhh Eventing might take all day but at least you flippin well know what time you will be on!

You'll just have to move back to Bristol so you can go jumpint at the Hand. It was so lovely in the sunshine on Saturday- and home by 1pm
(didn't do any good mind you

Gosh not got any better then, we keep our horses just round the road from langford so used to go quite regularly, not bothered for a while, classes take hours and hours to get thru, i know the owners are quite new to running shows but would thought by now would of got some ideas and yes even in unaffil comps after every class they had to roll the all weather surface, which takes even longer.

Just to rub salt in Boss, i went unaff SJing at The Hand today (first time i've been since they've done it up) two fab areans!!! warm up was lovely

they moved through their 11

classes as quickly as they could, although i didn't jump Ernie (in the last class) untill 8:00

I don't reckon it was just because all the eventing was cancelled either. I went a couple of months back for the unaff, aiming to jump the last 2 classes. Phoned the day before to ask approx times, they said come at around 1 .... I didn't jump until 5

You'd think with only 25/30 per class they would have been a bit more organised, but it was a complete joke. Shame, as that surface is lovely.

I was at Langford too,and the reason it was so busy was they had 3 scope qualifiers. Granted the warm up was awful,i actually only popped 2 jumps as did many others i know, but i think they did their best and went ahead with the show as it was the last qualifier. In fairness the arena jumped really well and i think it was good that they rolled it between classes. The entries were unusually high and they coped very well. Early mornings, long days and late nights thats showjumping i'm afraid!!!!
