BSJA report from today - Laughton Manor

seeing as Monty has won FAR too much money for his own good with his previous owner (has jumped out of foxhunter and tbh i dont want him to jump that big anymore)...so now at the age of 19, monty isnt eligble for many classes anymore...so i take what i can find between 90cm and 1m10 :P lol

so today was a 95cm open at laughton manor. warm up was really nice as it was really quiet today...only 14 people in my class

so i was very optimistic about possibly getting my first affiliated placing...he was jumping fab in the warm up, really leaping and forward etc.

took him in for the 95cm, fab jump over first...perfect stride to no. 2, good turn up to no. 3 and a flying leap! lol sharp dog leg to no. 4 a verticle, but he jumped it fab...round the corner to no.5, gave him plenty of room, loads of leg...didnt ride it any differenlty and THE BUGGER STOPPED! totally took me by surprise, as he never stops...so gave him a smack and took him back to no. 5 and he flew it, and the 2nd part...no idea what the problem was, and then he cleared the rest of the course fabulous!

no idea wha was wrong with no.5 double :/ no other horses looked at it...just a bit annoying as he didnt touch a single fence...and there were only 5 clears into the jump off - so if he hadnt stopped he would have probs got a placing!! grr...but ah well, he did jump the rest of the course lovely

and iv decided i really like laughton manor, as it was my first visit to the arena

Well done - where I am all the classes are run as BN/90 Open and Disco/100 Open etc. so anyone can jump in any class but people who are still eligible can get there dc's. Is there nowhere that does that near you?

it was a good day today as there was like no-one there! im used to arerna uk where there is like 40+ in each class...and thats why iv never got placed at bsja before lol :P

and no jumptoit, they dont do that anywhere near me

its so annoying! they have, say in a day either a 95cm open or maybe a 1m10 open. thats it tbh...so i can usually only do one class in a day, and usually only once a month :/ so annoying xx
 
I'm glad you enjoyed laughton - they are our nearest centre and have worked extremely hard to build up the business and improve the facilities. Added to which, they are always friendly and encouraging, which always makes for a pleasant day!
