Took J to NH today for once last attempt to sort out our issues there. I had decided just to go round the clear round a few times and then come home. Wasn't very hopeful as work up and could barely move my back was so sore. Anyway, got there nice and early so had plenty of time to work him in.
He warmed up perfectly again, but had to remind myself he did this on Sunday and then went in and was a complete idiot. So, in we went...
He cantered round nice and calmly, cat leaped the first fence as predicted but cleared it, then settled down and jumped really nicely, circled twice to make sure the approach was spot on, and he jumped a lovely clear
Went straight round again, and again he cat leaped the first fence, messed up the second, but got his legs out of the way and left it up, then he really tried for me, even did a flying change without losing the plot, and jumped another lovely clear round
The fences were as big as the last class on Sunday, and bigger than the intro combined training he did at GtW so was really amazed he went clear. He felt a bit babyish in places, and wasn't the smoothest round, but no head in the air and he listened to me for a change
Was so so pleased with him, we actually got a clap at the end (they have never seen him behave before
)
He could have easily done the BN but wanted to leave it at that and end on a really positive note. I am now going to leave jumping indoors for a while and concentrate on grass, as he copes much better. Got our first ODE planned for the 2nd of April so very very excited
Heres the video...

and some stills...
Sorry very self indulgent post, but those who have followed our progress (or rather lack of it
) will understand why I am so happy
