well we pootled of 4 bsja today. left at a very leisurley hour of 10.30. had aimed to get there for 11.30 ish to do the 1 metre and 1.10 (there was no 1.05
). anyway was all very rushed when we got there and only ended up with 15mins to tack up and warm up. i ended up in the ring having had just 5mins warm up so wasnt suprised when we had 4 down!
showjumping really is not busters fortay and he is the sort that can go in a jump a great clear or demolish everything!
so i then decided against doing the 1.10 having had such a bad 1st run and paid to go in again HC. i had a good 20-25 mins warm up and the first half of the round went great until we got a little close to number 6. this is normally something he can fiddle his way out of easily and he managed in fornt but just couldnt do it behind and dropped his back legs in it. this caused him to rush to the next and had that down aswell.
i had 2 circle in front of a fairly sizable oxer at 9 as we were totaly rong to it and we where HC anyway so didnt see the point in risking it. finished the rest nicely though.
i think he has probaly tweeked his back
so have our marvellous physio coming to see him 1st thing 2morro. the problem with him is that he never stops even if he is completely wrong or in pain!
the journey home wasnt terribly pleasent either. we had just turned of the motorway when there was th most almighty bang and my first though was oh f*** hes gone through the floor. but very quickly realised it was a back tyre. fortunatly we have four tyres on the back so managed to get it home but very scary all the same!
ho hum, we live to fight another day. id rather it happened now than at the start of the event season!
thanks for reading!
