Ooh, Ive never jumped on a school day with all the big boys and girls before! Was very busy at Quob and Ive not been before but what a lovely large arena with plenty of space for the good ship Scooby to about turn and keel haul etc etc.

I am trying to ride him as if I know how to ride him

as when I used to jump him all I felt was out of control, out of control tug tug tug.. so we have a new zen like method which worked pretty well as we just had the 1st fence in the BN and then we settled to have a lovely round jumping out of the canter.

Sadly a long wait and a few pile ups in the warm up meant we were a little frazzled in the Disc and had a bit of a cricket score

but on watching the video it doesnt look as bad as I thought. He tends to anticipate that I will hold him and then curl up his canter, and then I cant get him to jump 'out' of the stride so we get totally under the jumps.

Anyway, nothing a bit of kicking up the arse wont sort

Looks good. Sounds like you are doing the same as me atm!

I used to get into a tugging battle with my girl, and I think we have cracked it - we went hunting lots! If I tugged, we didn't make it over.

Its weird! I know he is immensely powerful and strong, yet if I pull my socks up and ride he is a gentleman in a snaffle! Also having poles indoors is embarrassing as they clatter dreadfully!

The more you go out the easier it will all become. I'm not a jumper lol but I like watching show jumping! I'm a dressage rider so it is fun to know what other people do etc.
