Have a look at this website if you like showjumping! www.bsja.tv its a new website that Nick Davies (owner of Hand Equestrian Centre) has set up. Its gonna be huge. He's put a great video on taken at Towerlands Premier show recently. He said he's going to be filming at Wales & West European Trials next weekend as well. This website has the potential to really help market showjumping and I think its a great idea. It has massive scope - he's going to advertise horses for sale in the future and has plans for lots of other things. Good luck to him - I think we need something like this!

Wow - brill!

And if you have more than one site open, such as this and that, you can listen to the commentary going on it the background while you carry on looking at this Forum!!!

Looks like the premier venues are trying to shaft the BSJA after all. It must be them as their logos are all over it and they had an article in h&h just a week before the site launched.

Makes you wonder why they are pretending to be the BSJA though. I thought David Broomes comment was strange when I read it. He obviously knew what they were all up to.

I think Nick is involving the BSJA, but from what I can gather the idea is Nick's and he has done all the leg work to get it off the ground and arrange the filming etc.

It looks good! The only thing about showjumping on tv (and they've done the same thing here - I'm not including the H.Derby though) is they usually show clear after clear, I'm horsey but even I find it gets boring, that class had obviously caused problems as they showed a few falls in the highlights beforehand, yet they just showed the 6 clears in full. When you compare that to Horse and Country tv with Punchestown/Necarne bla bla they show run outs/falls e.t.c and it makes the whole thing more interesting and exciting. Just my thoughts.

Its a nice site but is he really going to be able to keep the bsja.tv domain.

I mean, it really looks like hes passing off the site as a bsja site. As RushdenD pointed out earlier, it has the same look and feel as www.bsja.co.uk

I also agree with Severnmiles comments about only showing clear rounds. By showing runouts, refusals, falls it not only makes it entertaining and more realistic, it also shows the rest off us that even the top riders have bad days.

I would agree with you. Eurosport/Sky show highlights of people with faults with one or two clear rounds thrown in from young riders/horses before concentrating on the jump offs as obviously these had gone clear. It would be better to follow a similar format and just concentrate on the jump off which is better to watch. It would be good if at some of the GP's they can do live video streaming.

I agree. He's passing it off as the BSJA. Does he think people are stupid. Perhaps he thinks it will make people believe they're supporting the sport when he no doubt starts charging them.

Ridiculous

Why are you slating something that can only be good for the sport!? Site looks good.

can't wait to see more events!

I think thats more than a little harsh! I expect they will get most of their money from advertising and good on them, it's very nice to watch action from the big shows

feeling bad now. you are right. it is good for the sport and i will be watching it. my daughter jumps and i will be pleased if she is filmed and will no doubt be one of those proud parents making everyone watch.

i just found it strange. olive branch offered.

This is a product being developed by one of the foremost 'names' in modern day SJ'ing in this country. As i understand it, the guy has invested his own money to get the thing up and running...albeit in a fairly basic pilot. He has the backing of the BSJA, and has the other Premier show centres in the country on side. Not only that, but he has spent literally millions £££'s of his own money redeveloping one of the best show centres in the country. Yes, he probably does want to make it profitable at some point in the future.....he's not a charity after all....but for god's sake, get behind what is a brave and intuitive idea rather than try to see the negative in everything. The BBC aren't doing much for our sport...so let's support those initiatives that come from within

I think it is quite clever. (As is Nick Davies) This address of BSJATV actually stands for British Showjumping Action (TV) So I dont think the British Showjumping Association can do much about it even if they wanted too. Just because someone has a similiar background colour etc on a website is surely not a crime.

For clarification, do you have any affiliation with the British Show Jumping Association? I see you have the same initials, website colour scheme and very similar logo. Your "about us" link doesn't seem to work - I guess I would have found the answer there.

Anyway good luck, it looks like a good idea.

I've just got back from Wales & West show. All you guys have worked so hard and I cant wait to see your efforts uploaded asap!

Good luck for the future. Where are you filming at next?

Hiya Jan

It wasnt the same without you! You missed a good show. Even the weather was great. Andy did well on Gerry - how did he get on in the GP?
